Brewing beer on the shores of Lake of the Woods wasn’t some happy accident. It was a strategic and delicious decision. Beer is over 90% water, and when your backyard happens to be one of the most pristine freshwater lakes in the world, you’d better believe we’re putting that to good use.
The water from Lake of the Woods is soft and low in minerals, which makes it absolutely perfect for brewing. That smooth, crisp taste in your pint? Yeah, that’s the lake talking. It’s one of the reasons our beer stands out in a crowd, and trust us, we’ve been to a few crowded beer festivals.
And it’s not just us saying it. Back in 2018, the City of Kenora took home top honours at the Northwestern Ontario Water Quality Conference in Thunder Bay. In a blind taste test judged by a panel of water experts (yes, that’s a real thing), Kenora’s drinking water won first place in two categories.
So when we say we’re brewing with some of the best water on the planet, we mean it.
YUP… WE’VE GOT SOME PRETTY AWESOME WATER.
