Things You Only Understand if You’ve Visited The Taproom

Here are the quirks, sounds, smells, and inside jokes that make our taproom exactly what it is: a home base for good beer and even better times.

    The Pizza Oven Aroma

That smoky, campfire-adjacent smell drifting through the taproom? Yep. That’s just our wood-fired oven doing its thing. One whiff and suddenly you’re starving.

    The Bar Stool “Screech”

You haven’t lived until you’ve heard someone adjust a bar stool height mid-conversation. It’s alarmingly loud. And yes, we do hit them with WD-40 more often than you’d think.

The Great TV Channel Change Struggle

If you’ve ever asked us to change the channel, you already know: technology is not always on our side. Between the remotes that only work at a very specific angle to the TVs that occasionally refuse to cooperate. You’ll see a staff member pointing the remote, pressing buttons, getting frustrated, then the screen finally switches, usually followed by a victory dance.

Please clap. Or at least offer a high five. They’ve earned it. But hey, even when the TVs test our patience… we’re always happy to change the channel for you!

    The Legendary Taproom Bar Bell

If you’ve heard it… congratulations. If you’ve rung it… our condolences to your wallet. For those wondering: the bell above the bar means the ringer is buying a round for the entire taproom. It’s rare. It’s iconic.

    Shanna’s Concert Series

If Shanna’s on shift and the playlist is playlisting…You will get a free performance.

    The Brinkman Challenge

It’s the king of “sandwiches”, we put that in quotations because it’s almost impossible to actually eat it like a sandwich. pulled pork & cheddar cheese sandwich stuffed with savoury Mac ‘n cheese with a balsamic drizzle. ‘nuff said. When you see this beast get dropped on someone’s table, you can’t help but stare.

    The Occasional Summer Fly-By

Listen. We’re an open-air establishment. We do what we can… but every once in a while, a rogue fly wants to join the party. Consider it part of the taproom charm.

The Smell of a Fresh Brew

Brew day in the taproom = the best. The warm, malty aroma filling the room from the brewhouse is basically our version of a scented candle.

    The Flight Tower

When a whole table orders flights, there’s an unspoken law that kicks in: you must stack and carry them in the most dangerously impressive tower possible.

Servers suddenly turn into circus performers – three boards in one hand, two balanced on an arm, one wedged between fingers. And when that tower lands safely on the table? It’s the closest thing we have to a standing ovation.

    The Staff Stair Marathon

If you’ve ever wondered why our brew crew has calves of steel… it’s because everything lives downstairs. It’s no secret we operate out of an old building, and those stairs are basically our unofficial staff gym. If you’d like to donate to the “Get LowBrewCo an Escalator Fund,” please reach out. We’ll even put your name on a plaque.

    When Someone Buys Merch Mid-Beer

One of our favourite taproom sightings: someone casually disappears for two minutes, only to return triumphantly from the retail store with a fresh hat, hoodie, or pint glass they absolutely did not plan on buying when they walked in. They stroll back to their table holding the bag like a trophy.

The Summer Lineup Before We Even Open

If you know… you know. It’s 25°C, the sun’s already cooking the sidewalk, and there’s a full-on line to the door before we’ve even flipped on the “OPEN” sign. Summer at the taproom hits different. And honestly? We love the chaos.

    The Clink of Glasses

Cheers are basically a background track here. Whether you’re celebrating something big or just making it through a Tuesday, clink responsibly.

    The Fireside Arcade Frenzy

If you wander into the Fireside room, there’s a good chance the arcade is in full kid takeover mode. For adults, it’s background chaos. For kids, it’s Vegas. There might even be a staff member who sneaks in to try their hand at the claw machine.

Davey’s Corner (Or, If You’re Lucky… Davey Himself)

On one end of the bar, there’s a spot that isn’t just a seat, it’s a tradition. We call it Davey’s Corner, and it belongs to one person: our legendary regular, Davey!

It’s the kind of spot you only sit in if Davey’s not around… and even then, you do it with respect. We even made him his own plaque because, honestly, he’s earned it. If you catch Davey in his corner, consider yourself in the presence of taproom royalty.
