Another stellar season in the books for Lake of the Woods Brewing Company’s sponsored #2T, driven by Winnipeg’s own Derek Pollock! Derek wrapped up his 26th year behind the wheel with the kind of stats that make you double-take: his seventh track championship and a record-setting 80 career feature wins. Yes, 80.
Starting Strong at Victory Lane Speedway
The season kicked off in Winnipeg at Victory Lane Speedway, where Derek rolled out with a freshly-rebuilt race motor that “never missed a beat.” It definitely showed… He snagged the first checkered flag of the year and went on to win five features out of 12 events at that track alone. He also hit the road for a couple of events at Dead Horse Creek Speedway in Morden, MB, turning the two-day weekend shows into a full-on #2T good-time tour.
Borrowed Cars, Big Moments
In true racer fashion, Derek didn’t slow down even when he wasn’t in his own car. At the Pure Stock Nationals in Devils Lake, North Dakota, he strapped into a borrowed ride and was contending for the win on the final lap, before getting bumped and spun by the leader who lost control. It took him out of what looked like a guaranteed victory at one of the most prestigious events of the season. Heartbreaker? Absolutely.
His final race of the year? Another borrowed car. Yet another podium. Derek finished runner-up in a stacked 26-car field at the Mid Canada Dirt Track Nationals back in Winnipeg!
Championship Stats That Speak for Themselves
Across 15 total race events this season, Derek laid down numbers that prove why consistency wins championships:
- 5 wins
- 3 runner-up finishes
- 11 top-fives
- Only 2 DNFs
Those stats don’t lie—the #2T came to play!

Powered by Great Big Teas & Good Folks
Derek sent a big thanks to Taras, Rob, and the whole crew across all three Lake of the Woods Brewing Company locations for the support throughout 2025. More than a few Great Big Teas and No Wakes made their way into the coolers at the track this year… and let’s just say the fans and fellow racers didn’t complain.
