Beneath the Ice: Inside Deep 6 2026

Some beers are brewed. Some are barrel-aged. And then there’s Deep 6… Aged 20 feet below the surface of Lake of the Woods, in icy darkness, all winter long. That’s right. Our Deep 6 2026 Edition – Belgian Tripel Double Iced Bock is officially resting at the bottom of the lake, and pre-orders are now open. Only 500 bottles exist. When they’re gone, they’re gone gone.

Each bottle of Deep 6 2026 is hand numbered, carefully packaged in a custom-print box, and packed with a few surprises from the depths. It’s the kind of beer you might open right away… or stash away to see how it evolves.

    What’s in the Bottle?

This limited 2026 release is a bold Belgian Tripel with a twist, pouring deep gold with an off-white head and layered aromas of clove, bubble gum, orange, and banana. Spicy, fruity flavours meet gentle alcohol warmth, a subtly sweet grain character, low to moderate peppery phenols, and restrained spicy hops with medium bitterness. Medium-bodied, lively, and deceptively smooth, it warms as it goes with unmistakable Deep 6 character.

So… Aged Under Ice? For Real?

Oh, very real. Every fall, just before freeze-up, we ”deep six” bottles of a small-batch, handcrafted beer into Lake of the Woods. Each bottle is secured in anchored cages below the ice line, where it spends six months aging in near-perfect natural conditions, 4–10°C, gently rocked by the lake’s current. No light. No noise. Just cold, pressure, patience, and time.

When spring arrives, we haul them back up, and the result is something truly special: a beer that’s smooth, coooool, and unlike anything else we make. That’s the heart of the Deep 6 Aged-Under-Ice Series from Lake of the Woods Brewing Company – where the magic of the lake meets the art of brewing. Learn more by heading to deep6.beer!
