Some flavours just feel like home. The kind you can taste before you even crack the bottle. That’s exactly what happened when we teamed up with CanWest Maple to create the Forgotten Lake Blueberry Syrup: a perfect little love letter to Northern Ontario’s wild berries, local makers, and all things Lake Time. Forgotten Lake is one of our most-loved beers, so turning it into a whole new product just felt right. Especially with neighbours who’s as passionate about quality and creativity as we are.
If you’ve ever had our Forgotten Lake Blueberry Ale, you already KNOW the vibe. Now imagine that same vibe… but drizzled over pancakes. Or ice cream. Or cheesecake. Or straight off the spoon. (We don’t judge.)
A Sweet Northern Collaboration
Before we dive into blueberry bliss, we’ve gotta give some love to the folks who helped make this collab possible: Canada West Maple Products in Thunder Bay! These legends are known for crafting top-quality maple syrup sourced straight from Northern Ontario. The real deal! Maple syrup making is truly a labour of love and Canada West embraces that tradition fully.
And as they say:
“Rooted in the rock of the Canadian Shield, and grown with the rain of Canada’s largest freshwater lake — the trees that produce Canada West Maple don’t just make it Canadian, they make it very Canadian”
THE GOODS
This syrup is made by infusing wild blueberries into a Canada Grade A Dark syrup base to ensure you get the best of both, an authentic blueberry flavour without masking the taste of our maple syrup. This ain’t your average grocery store syrup.

How to Use It
Sure, pancakes and waffles are the obvious go-tos. But this syrup is versatile enough to put in just about anything:
- Drizzle over cheesecake
- Pour over fried chicken
- Add to cocktails
- Mix into yogurt or oatmeal
- Brush onto ribs or grilled chicken for a wild-berry glaze
- Pour on vanilla ice cream
- PLUS… a lot more combinations we haven’t tried yet! Let us know some of your faves..
You can snag a bottle of the Forgotten Lake Blueberry Syrup in our retail stores and online. Whether you’re gifting it, hosting brunch, or just treating yourself (we support this fully), it’s the kind of collab that brings a bit of Northern magic to your kitchen. ENJOY!
