CAMPUS CLASSIC SINCE THE ’90s!
Operated by the Lakehead Student Union, The Outpost campus Pub has been a staple of the Lakehead student experience since the early 1990s. What started as a classic campus pub has grown into something much bigger – a gathering place for students, staff, faculty, and the wider community alike. The Outpost is now a high-tech, full-service event venue that knows how to multitask. Alongside pub classics, they offer catering services and the ability to host everything from casual hangs to full-scale events. With over 10,000 square feet of space, it’s one of the largest campus bars in Canada. Whether you are looking for delicious food, all-age dances, drinks, or live performances, The Outpost is the place to be.
WHAT’S POURING
You’ll find a rotating lineup of LOWBrewCo favourites, including Lakeside Kolsch, Forgotten Lake Blueberry Ale & Sultana Gold! And according to them, Forgotten Lake Blueberry Ale is the clear crowd favourite. Enough said.
Why does local craft beer matter to The Outpost? Supporting local isn’t just a trend – it’s a direct response to demand. Students, staff, and faculty kept asking for LOWBrewCo, so bringing it in was a no-brainer. When the people ask, you listen (and pour).
WHAT TO EAT
Picking a favourite menu item is tough when the chef is that good – but a few standouts keep coming up: Hot Honey Chicken Bowl, Mexican Dirty Fries, Caprese Chicken Burger, And the newest crowd-pleaser: Quesabirria. Basically… come hungry.
EVENTS, SPECIALS & GOOD TIMES AHEAD
There’s always something happening at The Outpost. Weekly favourites include Tankard Tuesdays, every Tuesday from 4pm–1am. And coming up soon is a Super Bowl Party on February 8, complete with games and prizes. And here’s an inside scoop, some fun things are in the works for Friday nights!
